Effective 4 September 2026 · Version 1.0. How billing, renewals, and refunds work.

1. Membership tiers

Every new account gets a 7-day trial with everything unlocked. After that:

Annual plans are billed once for twelve months at the per-month rate shown. Prices are in US dollars.

2. Billing, renewal, and cancellation

• Subscriptions are charged at the start of each billing cycle and renew automatically until you cancel.
• We send a renewal notice at least 7 days before each renewal date.
• Cancel any time from Membership, or by writing to support@hookupemporium.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the cycle you have already paid for, and you keep access until then.
• If a payment fails we retry up to three times over seven days before suspending the membership. We do not cancel on the first decline — an expired card should not cost you your account.
• Changing tier moves your existing subscription and prorates the difference. It never opens a second subscription.

3. Refunds

• First-time subscribers. If this is your first paid subscription and you cancel within 14 calendar days of the initial charge, you get a full refund of that charge. Write to support@hookupemporium.com.
• Spent Sparks and Boosts are not refundable. Once used they have no monetary value.
• Unused Sparks and Boosts may be refunded at our discretion within 30 days of purchase if you are closing your account.
• Billing errors — duplicate charges, or charges after a confirmed cancellation — are refunded promptly on verification, with no time limit.

4. Sparks and Boosts

• Sparks and Boosts are consumable in-platform items bought in fixed packs at the price shown at purchase.
• They are credited only after the payment processor confirms the payment, never on the strength of a click.
• They are not transferable, have no cash value, and cannot be withdrawn.
• Unused balances are forfeited when an account is closed, except as described in section 3.

5. Payment security

Payments are handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified processor. Card details are entered directly into Stripe's own form and are tokenised: raw card data never reaches our servers and is never stored by us. All traffic is encrypted in transit over TLS.

6. Chargebacks

• Please contact support@hookupemporium.com before raising a chargeback. We aim to resolve billing disputes within 5 business days, which is almost always faster than your bank.
• We contest chargebacks on authorised transactions, providing transaction records and access logs to the card network.
• Accounts used to obtain services through fraudulent chargebacks may be permanently terminated, and we may pursue recovery.

7. What you may not pay for

Payment features may not be used for anything unlawful, including payment for sexual services, anything connected to trafficking, or money laundering. Accounts found doing so are terminated immediately and reported to the appropriate authorities.

8. Tax and currency

• Prices are in US dollars unless stated otherwise. We collect and remit sales tax, VAT, and GST where we are required to.
• If you are outside the United States you are responsible for any local taxes or duties not collected at checkout.
• Currency conversion is handled by your bank or card issuer. We do not control exchange rates and are not responsible for them.

9. Mobile purchases

Where you subscribe through a mobile app store, that store processes the payment under its own terms, and cancellations and refunds are handled through your store account rather than here.
